Leeds Fest 2012

I couldn't blog about Leeds fest straight away as I had a few tricks up my sleeve that couldn't be revealed until a certain birthday girl had received her presents.

I've been going to Leeds Festival on and off since 2008 and this year, after last years horrific camping incidents with the drug dealers next door, we decided to only get a day ticket for the Friday so my sister could see Foo Fighters and I could see All Time Low and Bullet For My Valentine.

One of the best things about festivals is that even if there isn't a band that you particularly want to see on a stage, you can find other things to do until there is. I usually opt for the signing tent, again depending on who is there. This year we were lucky and All Time Low were doing a signing before they went on stage later in the day.
I never really do anything interesting with things I get signed, I usually lose them or forget that I have them in the first place so I decided to make this one count and got a 21st birthday card signed for my friend Vicky. (Hence why I couldn't post this until her presents were given).

Overall it was a good day with very little rain whilst we were there, good bands and good company with surprise visits from friends that I havent seen in a while.

I might risk going for the weekend again next time though, I'll just be careful who I set up camp next to!

Happy birthday Vicky!

Current Topshop Wishlist

I went into Topshop today and saw so many things I wanted to buy! It's always the way - when you have money to spend you can't find anything you want, when you don't, you find everything!
I went online to debate treating myself to a little something and found even more. Here are a few things that I found...

Textured Pleat Tunic - £26

Because you can never have too many little black dresses.

Textured Pleat Tunic - £26

Because that little black dress also looks lovely in red.

Embroidered Contrast Dress by Coco's Fortune - £55

Because I love dip hem and black & white.

Solar Vest by Tee and Cake - £23

Because it's fun.

Knitted Lace Front Jumper - £38

Because I love a bit of lace.

Studded Biker Jacket - £65

Because you can never have too many leather biker jackets. Or studs.

Oxblood Wrap Front Calf Skirt - £38

Because this colour is amazing.

Can I win the lottery yet?!

Umberto Giannini's Beauty Secrets

Umberto Giannini Instant Beauty Silky Soft Leave-in Conditioner.

It's not exactly a secret that I'm not naturally this blonde and I dye my hair pretty often. The main thing I worry about when dying my hair - and constantly straightening it - is what damage I'm going to do to it leaving it dry so I decided to go and look for a leave-in conditioner to help.

Another confession - I've never bought any of Umberto Giannini's products before, however, I plan to buy many in the future. I'm now addicted to this leave-in conditioner and use it every time I wash my hair to make it silky smooth and soft. I've also found that it is a good product for leaving my hair smooth after straightening it, leaving me with less frizz which is always a plus!

Because the conditioner is in a spray and comes out as a light mist it is perfect as it does not weigh my hair down or leave it feeling greasy - it feels like I've got no product in at all.

I bought this one in Boots but I've seen it around in the hair care section of Tesco too so it's pretty easy to get hold of if you want to try it out for yourself. It's not that expensive either, I got this for around £5.

Splish Splash in Bath

My boyfriend Johnny goes to uni in Bath so we thought we'd take a road trip down south to be tourists and pick up his new house keys. Please ignore my appearance as there was a big lack of hot water in the new house and we forgot my hairdryer so my hair has been dry shampooed as much as it possibly can be - it felt like I was at a festival splashing myself with cold water and soap to get clean!

On our first night we went to Ikea in Bristol to have a look around which is always very exciting and on our second day down south we were the biggest tourists you'll ever find taking photos of everything we saw followed by a dinner party at Johnny's friends house with monopoly - which we won - and birthday cake.

I'm not a big lover of history but I really did enjoy looking around the Abbey and Roman Baths, they were both so beautiful and I highly recommend giving them a visit if you're ever near Bath.
The photos above are in a bit of a random order, sorry!

Mad Hatter's tea party...

Mad Hatter's menu
Banoffee Cupcake, Strawberries & Cream Cupcake with banana milkshakes

The Mad Hatter's Tea Room in Chester is like stepping into a little piece of Wonderland tucked away on the rows above Bridge Street. As I've been away at uni, I've not had the chance until now to visit the tea room and I've been missing out! Today was my second visit to Mad Hatter's and I was just as, if not more, impressed with the place.

It is the small details of Mad Hatter's that makes it's so appealing, with the hat rack as you enter, wall art and menus made to look like playing cards straight out of Wonderland. However, the staff are a lot more pleasant and friendly than you'd find down the rabbit hole.

The range of cakes, soups and sandwiches to choose from as well as a number of different teas and coffees appeal to anyone, big or small, with hot chocolates, milkshakes and soft drinks too.

I've been to the tea room twice now, both times having the strawberries and cream cupcake, which I recommend. The strawberry jam inside is a nice surprise and goes well with the sweet cream on top of the cupcake. I'm looking forward to visiting again soon and trying their eggs & soldiers or even their scones.. There's so much to choose from!

If you wish to pay them a visit, and personally I think you should, you can find them on Bridge Street Row East in Chester city centre. Enjoy!

Adding to my wishlist

Studded Sleeve Vest - Topshop £35 | Petites Matt PU Leggings - Miss Selfridge £18 |
Leather Quilted Chain Clutch Bag - Topshop £48

_________________________________________________________________________________

I'm loving chained and studded clothes and accessories lately - I can't get enough! I'm adding these three items to my ever growing wish list. I'm usually not a fan of wearing leggings as trousers but as these ones from Miss Selfridge are thicker and not as see through as the usual leggings - avoiding embarrassing knicker showage - I'll have to make an exception, especially when they'd look so good with this top and clutch.

The first of many...

University is over, I've graduated and right now I'm attempting to write a CV so I can officially grow up and get a "real job".
What better to do than start posting in my blog?!
I've always followed blogs but now it's my turn to type up my thoughts, post my pictures and ultimately fill people in on what I'm up to these days.
Time to get the ball rolling and start posting!
Here we go, I can tell this is going to be addictive...
