Let's Catch Up!

I'm sorry I've been distant lately, it's not you, it's me. I've been super busy lately but here's some of the things I've been up to...

The biggest change in my life, apart from uni starting up and my boyfriend moving back to Bath, is that I've passed my driving test. It only took years of lessons on and off due to uni but I managed to do it first time with only two minors so I'm pretty proud of that! I've had my little electric blue mini since I was 17 but it's nice to finally be able to drive it without supervision and be able to go wherever I want!

Another pretty big change is my hair colour.. After dying my hair blonder since I was 14 I've finally opted to go darker and I must admit, I love it! It's so much easier, especially as I haven't had it done in weeks and I don't have a big black line of roots appearing down my head anymore, bliss! I also got a full fringe cut in but that isn't very exciting as it made me look about 10 and I soon got rid of it...

I also made the switch from Blackberry to iPhone 5 recently and my life is so much easier without my phone constantly freezing and dying on me. I even got a little TARDIS phone case to jazz it up a bit.

And I met McFly again, but that's another story for another day.

There's not much else to fill you all in on really. I won't leave it as long next time, I promise.

Hope you're all well!

It feels weird not posting a picture so here is my face.

Emotional Brilliance: Perspective.

I love Lush products but rather than using them everyday they're usually a bit of a treat for me due to their prices. However, Perspective in their Emotional Brilliance range has quickly become one of my favourite products to wear and it is definitely worth the £14.50 that I paid for it.

Personally, I tend to only wear eye make up in the day and possibly jazz it up with some lip colour on a night out but I enjoy wearing Perspective for any occasion. The colour itself can seem quite dark at first but I find that it is a perfect autumn/winter colour, which in England can seem all year round!

Like the other products in the Emotional Brilliance range, Perspective can be used anywhere on your face, although designed as a lip colour. If you want to put it on your cheeks or eyes, that's fine, the colour smudges and blends extremely easily. Although, this does mean that as a lipstick before the colour completely dries it can transfer onto your glass when you drink.

The Emotional Brilliance range at Lush itself is very exciting, I love playing with the mood wheel in store and online, mainly because I find that kind of thing very interesting. You can do it yourself here.

I might need to invest in some more colours myself soon!

Maybelline Illegal Length Mascara

Like most girls, I can be quite picky when it comes to make up. I want a mascara that isn't going to give me spider eyes but still gives me long thick looking lashes. Maybelline New York's Illegal Length mascara does give you the length whilst keeping the lashes looking natural and not clumpy or spider-like.

The added length to your lashes is due to the fibre brush that comes with the mascara. It's a really nice applicator as it doesn't pull on your lashes like some mascaras can do. As you apply you can immediately see the impact that the mascara is having on your lashes with each stroke. My eyebrows look a little strange in the photos below but you can see the difference quite clearly.

Looking again the "after" photo is a little creepy because I'm staring into the camera, sorry about that!
One slight downside is the lack of thickness but at least it means I avoid clumps and lumps on my eyelashes!

Leeds Fest 2012

I couldn't blog about Leeds fest straight away as I had a few tricks up my sleeve that couldn't be revealed until a certain birthday girl had received her presents.

I've been going to Leeds Festival on and off since 2008 and this year, after last years horrific camping incidents with the drug dealers next door, we decided to only get a day ticket for the Friday so my sister could see Foo Fighters and I could see All Time Low and Bullet For My Valentine.

One of the best things about festivals is that even if there isn't a band that you particularly want to see on a stage, you can find other things to do until there is. I usually opt for the signing tent, again depending on who is there. This year we were lucky and All Time Low were doing a signing before they went on stage later in the day.
I never really do anything interesting with things I get signed, I usually lose them or forget that I have them in the first place so I decided to make this one count and got a 21st birthday card signed for my friend Vicky. (Hence why I couldn't post this until her presents were given).

Overall it was a good day with very little rain whilst we were there, good bands and good company with surprise visits from friends that I havent seen in a while.

I might risk going for the weekend again next time though, I'll just be careful who I set up camp next to!

Happy birthday Vicky!

Current Topshop Wishlist

I went into Topshop today and saw so many things I wanted to buy! It's always the way - when you have money to spend you can't find anything you want, when you don't, you find everything!
I went online to debate treating myself to a little something and found even more. Here are a few things that I found...

Textured Pleat Tunic - £26

Because you can never have too many little black dresses.

Umberto Giannini's Beauty Secrets

Umberto Giannini Instant Beauty Silky Soft Leave-in Conditioner.

It's not exactly a secret that I'm not naturally this blonde and I dye my hair pretty often. The main thing I worry about when dying my hair - and constantly straightening it - is what damage I'm going to do to it leaving it dry so I decided to go and look for a leave-in conditioner to help.

Another confession - I've never bought any of Umberto Giannini's products before, however, I plan to buy many in the future. I'm now addicted to this leave-in conditioner and use it every time I wash my hair to make it silky smooth and soft. I've also found that it is a good product for leaving my hair smooth after straightening it, leaving me with less frizz which is always a plus!

Because the conditioner is in a spray and comes out as a light mist it is perfect as it does not weigh my hair down or leave it feeling greasy - it feels like I've got no product in at all.

I bought this one in Boots but I've seen it around in the hair care section of Tesco too so it's pretty easy to get hold of if you want to try it out for yourself. It's not that expensive either, I got this for around £5.

Splish Splash in Bath

My boyfriend Johnny goes to uni in Bath so we thought we'd take a road trip down south to be tourists and pick up his new house keys. Please ignore my appearance as there was a big lack of hot water in the new house and we forgot my hairdryer so my hair has been dry shampooed as much as it possibly can be - it felt like I was at a festival splashing myself with cold water and soap to get clean!

On our first night we went to Ikea in Bristol to have a look around which is always very exciting and on our second day down south we were the biggest tourists you'll ever find taking photos of everything we saw followed by a dinner party at Johnny's friends house with monopoly - which we won - and birthday cake.

I'm not a big lover of history but I really did enjoy looking around the Abbey and Roman Baths, they were both so beautiful and I highly recommend giving them a visit if you're ever near Bath.
The photos above are in a bit of a random order, sorry!
